In a way or another, I always had had a journal. It was a diary dedicated to my day-to-day events. When I arrived in the UK, I stopped the diary. I knew that writing in Italian was not going to be beneficial to my writing skill. After taking English classes, passing my IETLS exam, and starting university, I decided that I wanted a place where I can do more than record event.
WHAT IS JOURNALING
In a word that encourages the use of technology to connect with others, Journaling is a personal space where one can express their thought for themselves. Writing helps to bring out so much of what we have inside out. Fixing our thought on on paper will allows us to become more aware of them, and consequently help us intercept blocks or ideas and work toward change or improvement.
BENEFIT OF JOURNALING
Handwriting has been scientifically shown to have many advantages. It is similar to staring in the mirror. If we do it honestly, we will learn a lot about ourselves and use it to better ourselves.
- Communication – Even if we don’t let others read what we write, writing will improve our communication skills (by practising regularly)
- Increase Creative – writing down help generate new ideas or solutions
- Organize our thoughts– The critical benefit of writing is that it encourages you to concentrate on situations, understand the circumstances you’re in and find a way to deal with them.
- Reduce stress – writing relieves yourself of burdens and express your feelings. By writing things down, we sort of dump on paper all the unpleasant thoughts that have arisen during the day, allowing us to get rid of them.
- Increase self-esteem – Rereading our diaries allows us to see how far we’ve come and how many accomplishments we’ve already achieved.
WHEN TO JOURNAL
Some people believe that journaling takes a long time, but it can take as little as 5 minutes per day. Our days are not all the same, and each must find their own suitable time. try to write as little as a sentence every day (you can challenge yourself to write in your journal for a set amount of time for a tot of days )
